Local Area

Kenmore and Loch Tay

Kenmore is a picture postcard village of whitewashed cottages with an attractive lochside location.

Situated some 6 miles west of Aberfeldy on the A827, Kenmore sits at the eastern end and outlet of Loch Tay, and enjoys wonderful views along the loch.

Weekend Breaks

Perthshire has become almost synonymous with whisky and castles. And the locality can hold its own with the famous Grampian Castle and Whisky Trails. Perhaps not the density but certainly the diversity and quality.

Scotland’s smallest distillery, Edradour in Pitlochry and it’s oldest, Glenturret at Crieff, now featuring The Famous Grouse Experience. Also notable are Blair Athol, the Dewars World of Whisky Centre and distillery in Aberfeldy, and Dalwhinnie a little further north. All featuring excellent visitor centres and plenty of free samples!

And as for castles, Blair Castle, reputedly Scotland's finest, is a day out in itself - with Castle Menzies at Aberfeldy also a must visit, as is magnificent Scone Palace on the outskirts of Perth, and home to Perth Races.

And whisky features strongly at Aberfeldy Weem Hotel - as you might expect. So much so that we offer nearly 70 single malts in our bar. Indeed, so much do our hotels showcase whisky that our sister hotel – Dunalastair – has its own exclusive malt and a dram of this will be awaiting you in your room on arrival.
